If you are working with your own image or video and feel that the quality is not similar to your original uploaded file, then don’t panic! To keep things moving fast on the artboard, Crello compresses images after upload. Once you have finished designing, the downloaded version will match the resolution of your original file. However, we also recommend that you check your original file; just in case you have chosen a low-res image. Remember, Crello only supports the following formats for uploads:
Images - JPG, JPEG, PNG – up to 50 MB
Video – MOV and MP4 - up to 200 MB
Fonts - TTF formatt
How to ensure high image quality on the downloaded design?
In Crello, you can choose in which format you would like to export your design- click “Download” in the upper-right corner of the artboard to see all available formats:
JPG- works best if you need a beautiful image for social media or an email newsletter that won't take long to render. Mind that JPGs may lose in quality after exporting your design due to the compression that happens when you save a file to your PC, however, the reduced quality comes in handy when you need to upload your design on the Internet.
What Crello formats are best for JPG download? -Square Graphic Post, Facebook Post, Facebook or Instagram Story, Twitter Post, Pinterest Graphic, Tumblr Graphic, and Blog post (if you wish to keep the size web-friendly)
PNG- this is also a classic image format that guarantees a higher quality upon exporting your design. Choose PNG if you need to save your design in high resolution and avoid the compression to the extent of JPG. Also, this is the best format to download images with an opaque background.
What Crello formats are best for PNG download? - All the above listed social media post formats plus Covers- Zoom Background, Facebook Cover, Facebook Event Cover, YouTube Channel Art, YouTube Thumbnail, Twitter Header, Tumblr Banner, Email Header, Blog Banner, Blog Header, Linkedin Cover; Online Ads- Facebook Ad, Instagram Ad, Twitter Ad, Wide Skyscraper, Medium Rectangle, Large Rectangle, Leaderboard; Marketing - Logo
PDF- a printable format that works best if you need to print out your design. PDFs usually come in the highest quality and the file size is not as web-friendly as image format size (JPG or PNG).
What Crello formats are best for PDF or PDF Print download? Marketing- Business Card, Flyer, Gift Certificate, Infographic, Poster, Poster US, Presentation 16:9, Presentation 4:3, Newsletter, Label, T-Shirt, Coupon; Documents- Ebook, A4, Certificate, Invitation, Card, Postcard, Resume, Brochure, Invoice, Proposal.
If you think that the downloaded design should have been exported in higher quality, you can always do some “magic” to increase the image size and get rid of pixels on your design. Here are some tricks for you to try out to fix the design quality:
1) Go on and resize your design -on the upper-right corner of the artboard click “Resize” and choose “Custom dimensions”. Type in the desired parameters- mind keeping the original ratio, e.g. if your original design size in pixels is 1024x512 px try to resize it to 2024x1012 px to get the image with the higher resolution in pixels, therefore, with the higher quality.
Note, if your design has any images they should be big enough (300 dpi or higher) to ensure they will not look pixelated after resizing your design.
2)Download your design as a PDF to get a very sharp image. Then you can use any professional design software like Adobe Illustrator or InDesign to convert your design to PNG or JPG.
3) If you have a Mac user, then the easiest way for you would be to export your design in PDF and open it in on Mac's PDF previewer. Go to the “File” menu and, click “Export” and under the “Format” tab choose either PNG or JPG.
