Starting August 2020 there is a value-added tax applied on top of the subscription price for our European clients. Typically the VAT amount differs from 15% to 20% depending on your country of permanent residence (the only exception is Switzerland due to its non-EU member status). This table represents the actual VAT rates applied to digital goods such as Crello subscription by EU country:
|Country||Standard VAT rate|
My credit card issuing bank is registered outside the EU, but the VAT tax is applied to my purchase. Why?
Exception for telecommunications, broadcasting and electronic services:
VAT on telecommunications, broadcasting and electronic services is charged in the country where you live (the country where you are established, have your permanent address or usually live), and not in the country from where you purchase the service. These rules apply to services purchased both within and from outside the EU.
